MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF OF POLICE

On behalf of the officers of the West York Borough Police Department, I welcome and thank you for your interest in our police department. I assure you that our officers are committed to a core value of service, integrity and respect.

It is our mission within the West York Borough Police Department to promote a feeling of security and safety to the citizens of this community. We are here to provide the highest quality of law enforcement services related to the protection of life and property by taking an active role to prevent criminal activity. We are committed to detecting and investigating all criminal activity--by the apprehension and incarceration of offenders and by the enforcement of state laws and borough ordinances. Along with the support of elected borough officials and other borough departments, we work to provide a safe environment for this community that we gladly protect and serve.

Our officers understand and recognize the importance of community partnership and employ both proactive problem-solving strategies and special tactics to suppress criminal and nuisance activity. Our agency is a full-service police department with a wide range of police responses, including vehicle patrol, foot patrol, mountain bike patrol and criminal investigation.

We pride ourselves on ethics, honesty, openness and fairness in our profession. We value respect, honoring the rights and dignity of each person we are called upon to serve. From my first days as a patrolman with the West York Borough Department to serving as your chief today, my goal has always been to make the Borough of West York a safer place in which to raise families, work, live and play. With teamwork between the community and your police department, we can accomplish this goal.

I am extremely proud of the professional and dedicated members of the West York Borough Police Department. I invite you to learn more about our agency and the services that we provide to our community. If I may be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me through the links on this website or in person.
